Behavioral Health Services

Peer Support

One-on-one encouragement, skill-building, and advocacy delivered by Certified Peer Support Specialists who share lived experience of mental health or substance use recovery.

What Is Peer Support?

Peer Support is a Medicaid-billable service delivered by Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) — individuals who have their own lived experience of mental health or substance use recovery. Specialists provide one-on-one support, help participants set recovery goals, navigate systems of care, and build natural community connections.

Our Peer Support Specialists meet participants where they are — literally and figuratively — offering encouragement, advocacy, and practical assistance as individuals work toward their personal recovery goals.

Who We Serve

Peer Support services are available to adults and youth in Alamance County and surrounding areas enrolled in North Carolina Medicaid with an active behavioral health diagnosis. Services are authorized through the individual's LME/MCO.
